Peak Design – backpacks, camera accessories and Mobile

Peak Design is an American brand from San Francisco, founded in 2010 by Peter Dering. Its first product was the Capture clip for carrying a camera on a backpack strap, funded on Kickstarter in 2011. Today the brand makes backpacks, bags, travel organisers, camera straps, tripods and a system of phone cases and mounts.

Systems that fit together

Peak Design's strength is how its products connect. The Capture clip (current V3, with an Arca-Swiss compatible plate; see Mobile accessories) attaches to a backpack strap or belt. Anchor connectors link your camera to the Slide, Leash and Cuff straps from Luggage and accessories. Mobile cases attach to bike, motorcycle and car mounts via SlimLink, which combines magnets with a mechanical latch and is MagSafe compatible. Camera Cubes and Packing Cubes are designed to fit the Travel backpacks.

Frequently asked questions

What warranty does Peak Design offer?
The manufacturer states a lifetime warranty on manufacturing defects and failures that stop the product from working. It does not cover normal wear, cosmetic damage or accidents; products with rechargeable batteries are covered for two years.

Are Peak Design backpacks useful without a camera?
Yes. The FlexFold dividers in Everyday backpacks can be removed or folded away, turning the bag into a regular city or work backpack.
